Nyss brings decades of pattern drafting knowledge to her practice of designing digital sewing patterns for contemporary sewists.

Each design goes through extensive sampling to make sure the fit and construction process is as perfect as possible.

‍Nyssa also draws on her extensive teaching experience to make the pattern instructions clear and informative.

She aims for the patterns to not only allow you to produce beautiful self made items for your wardrobe, but also to build your sewing knowledge so that you can apply this to other projects.

All sMs sewing patterns come with two options for printing.

1. Large format printing (A0)- these files can be printed a copy shop. these files generally require no or minimal piecing together.

2. Tiled print (A4)- these files can be printed on any standard home computer. The pages then need to be pieced together before cutting out the pattern.

Each sewing pattern comes with a detailed step by step instruction booklet.

People learn in different ways, so in addition to the pattern instructions sMs sewing patterns are accompanied by a video sewing tutorial which can be found at the SELF MADE SURROUNDING YouTube channel.
